The Teacher I'll Never Forget

Miss Patricia was my primary four mathematics and class teacher and a teacher i will never forget. She was quite short and dark-skinned with short black hair a chubby face and a bright smile. I remember the day she walked into the classroom for the first time. She was introduced to us just after first period, she was smartly dressed in corporate wear and wore a bright smile. She then told us a little bit about herself and i remember thinking "i am going to like her", i was wrong. To the teachers and other staff she was sweet and lovely but to the pupils, she was a total nightmare.

I learnt, quite early not to get on her bad side, she did not go easy on pupils who broke the rules or failed to follow her instructions. Her lessons used to be long and quiet, except from her voice in the room and i used to count down every minute till the bell rang. Mathematics, already wasn't one of my favourite subjects, but having her as a teacher made me dislike it even more.

I remember us in the classrom, sitting in silence, even when we didn't understand we were too afraid to ask questions. When she wasn't in the classroom, she would walk up and down the halls holding a long cane, ready to hand out purnishment to any pupil who stepped out of line. The only time she was different was when the school organised a cultural day parade, where pupils got to dress up and tell stories about their culture through different activities. She was incharge of organizing the event for my class and we all had fun. She was very nice, let us do whatever we wanted and even helped with our presentations, we were all very surprised , because we had never seen that side of her before, turned her she loved cultural celebrations.

She was fired six months later, after too many complaints from pupils and a PTA meeting. Till this day, she is the worst teacher i have ever had.
